Georges Terzian (1939-2021) : A Symphony of Colors and Shapes

Renowned for his distinctive post-cubist style, Georges Terzian stands as an artist who masterfully explores the synthesis of various forms, primarily working with oil as his chosen medium. His paintings, a harmonious blend of vibrant hues and dynamic shapes, reflect his singular approach to portraying subjects.

Born on March 8, 1939, in Marseille, Georges Terzian hails from an Armenian family that had previously resided in Russia before relocating to France just before his birth. This multicultural backdrop undoubtedly influenced Terzian’s artistic sensibilities.

Terzian’s journey into the realm of art began at a tender age. His innate passion for drawing and painting blossomed, leading his parents to enroll him in the prestigious “L’Ecole des Beaux-Arts” in Marseille at the age of fourteen. Although he dedicated a year to formal studies, Terzian chose to depart before completing the program. Undeterred, he continued honing his craft in his workshop located in Sainte-Mitre, near Marseille.

It was in this intimate artistic space that Terzian developed a unique brushstroke that became his unmistakable signature. His paintings, marked by this distinctive technique, soon gained recognition and captivated art enthusiasts worldwide. The global acclaim of Terzian’s work is underscored by the representation of his art by collectors around the world and Stephanie’s Art Gallery, which proudly exhibits his creations in the United States.

Georges Terzian’s artistic journey is a testament to his commitment to individual expression and his ability to convey the dynamic essence of his subjects through a symphony of colors and shapes. As his paintings continue to resonate globally, Terzian’s legacy as a pioneering post-cubist artist remains firmly established.
