Born on March 8, 1939, in Marseille, Georges Terzian hails from an Armenian family that had previously resided in Russia before relocating to France just before his birth. This multicultural backdrop undoubtedly influenced Terzian’s artistic sensibilities.
Terzian’s journey into the realm of art began at a tender age. His innate passion for drawing and painting blossomed, leading his parents to enroll him in the prestigious “L’Ecole des Beaux-Arts” in Marseille at the age of fourteen. Although he dedicated a year to formal studies, Terzian chose to depart before completing the program. Undeterred, he continued honing his craft in his workshop located in Sainte-Mitre, near Marseille.
It was in this intimate artistic space that Terzian developed a unique brushstroke that became his unmistakable signature. His paintings, marked by this distinctive technique, soon gained recognition and captivated art enthusiasts worldwide.
